Robert H. Leslie, Lexstar’s founder, is a visionary whose success as a developer and entrepreneur is legendary. He surrounds himself with a staff of highly qualified, energetic, dedicated people who are committed to getting the job done on time, on budget and without surprises. Bob believes that a group of talented individuals working together as a team can accomplish extraordinary results.
In his native Manitoba, Canada, Bob honed his expertise in the real estate construction industry. He purchased and built the first Ramada in Canada. Since moving to Fargo in 1994, he has expanded his construction and development company, building numerous commercial landmarks, including the Ramada Plaza & Suites, the Multiband Tower, Staybridge Suites, Capital Square and Veterans Square.
Lexstar Realty was established in 2008 and continues to increase its team of qualified agents and brokers.
Chief Operating Officer
Norman Leslie specializes in capitalizing on new opportunities to create phenomenal company growth. He is a regional leader in development, construction and leasing hotels, commercial buildings and retail centers. Norm’s role at Lexstar is focused on relationships with banks, investors and clients, product and project development and managing the equity/finance process. Norm and his father, Robert H. Leslie, share the Leslie family philosophy of “delivering legendary service.”
Kyle Anderson is responsible for Lexstar operations, sales, construction and the overall profitability of the company. He networks with realtors, suppliers, banks, architects and other members of the community to build solid relationships with them. He is in charge of all timelines and identifies issues in advance so that timelines can be maintained. He also ensures that control systems are handled with discipline to enable cost controls. Kyle graduated from North Dakota State College of Science. He has over 30 plus years of management experience.
Chief Financial Officer
Dan Stanley is a graduate of the University of South Dakota Business School and has earned CPA designation. He has over 20 years of experience in leadership roles as a Controller with several manufacturing entities plus the retail building materials industry. Dan is a key member of our Lexstar team and possesses exceptional leadership skills.
Arleen McKay, a Certified Public Accountant, is responsible for the day-to-day overall financial operation of the company and its related entities, including preparing and analyzing financial statements, developing and monitoring budgets, and overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable. Arleen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from North Dakota State University. She was previously employed by KBW Associates, Freedom Resources and United Way.
Becky Nelson, is the Administration Assistant to Lexstar Real Estate Services and Lexstar Construction in Fargo. In this position Becky works closely with Lexstar’s construction department issuing contracts and purchase orders. She is also an active team member in our real estate and property management departments. Previously Nelson had a long relationship with Tharaldson Motels including Tharaldson Development as the Construction Contract Administrator. Nelson holds a business degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Serving as construction manager, Jim Potratz is a key member of our Lexstar Construction team. He has extensive experience in the development, construction and management of multiple construction projects totaling more than $800 million, in 28 states within the last 30 years. His experience includes all aspects of a project from feasibility study to project delivery. Jim specializes in hospitality and multi-family projects. His portfolio includes: Hilton International/Hampton Inn, Hampton Inn and Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Marriott/Fairfield Inn, Fairfied Inn & Suites, Marriott Courtyard, Marriott Delta, Residence Inn, Springhill Suites, Intercontinental/Staybridge Suites, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Wyndham, Hawthorne Suites, Ramkota, Kelly Inn’s and Suites and many more. Jim also has experience in multi-family units including Waukee Family, Waukee Iowa, Kaskade Place, Woodland Parks, Rochester. Jim values integrity, reliability, communication and professionalism. He strives to maintain a team atmosphere in all projects.
Director of Business Development, Construction
Nate’s role at Lexstar is focused on building relationships with ownership groups in need of new construction, renovations, conversions and PIPs for hospitality, casinos and commercial construction projects.
In today’s ever-changing business climate, a person with Nate’s characteristics is a welcomed addition to Lexstar Construction. His education and work experience are grounded in the key fundamentals of architecture, drafting, engineering and business. More importantly, his qualifications extend past these credentials. His creativity is a benefit as a project manager and architectural designer including hotels, corporate offices in addition to residential design. His positive attitude and strong organizational skills are only enhanced by his management, marketing and sales experience. Nate was previously employed with TMI Hospitality as a project manager and is a graduate from the University of Mary in business management. He has 20 plus years of experience in the building industry.
Nate lives in Hawley, Minnesota with his wife Lynette and their three daughters
Construction Project Superintendent
Ryan McPadden serves as our Project Superintendent and brings over 20 years of experience in multi-family and hotel construction. His professional portfolio includes overseeing the build of the Fairfield Inn in West Yellowstone, MT and the Fairfield Inn in Helena, Montana. In addition, Ryan oversaw the build of the Hampton Inn and Suites in Temecula, CA and the Hampton Inn and Suites in Agoura Hills, CA. He has also served as Project Superintendent with multiple Choice Hotel projects. As of November 2016, Ryan successfully completed the highly acclaimed Hawthorn Suites by Wyndam in Fargo, ND. Ryan’s great attention to detail makes him an extraordinary standout in the industry. His vast experience is reflected in his work ethic and the team atmosphere he creates on all of his projects. Construction Project Superintendent
Randy Reis has over 20 years of experience in multi-family and hotel construction. His professional portfolio includes overseeing the construction of the Lucky 13 restaurants in Mendota, MN and Fargo, ND. In addition, Randy oversaw the build of the Kelly Inn Hotel Annex in West Yellowstone, MT. Randy’s skills include preparing bid proposals, construction schedules, selecting subcontractors, reviewing progress and quality control. Randy currently lives in South Dakota and is a volunteer fire fighter.
Construction Project Superintendent
Richard Silverthorn comes with over 30 years of experience in residential, multi-family, commercial and hotel construction in Southern California, Arizona and North Dakota. Prior to Lexstar, Silverthorn served as a building inspector with the State of Arizona and as a construction superintendent for a Seattle based general contractor, overseeing the construction of multi-family homes in Williston ND. Silverthorn is a seasoned professional with experience in construction management, scheduling, project management and business operations, with a proven track record of managing projects with a clear focus on cost, schedule and performance. Richard currently lives in Scottsdale AZ.
Todd May has more than 35 years of hands-on construction experience. His strengths are in all aspects of construction and project management from initial concept, specification review, schedule maintenance, coordination , computer skills, blue-print reading, structural steel, asphalt design, concrete, risk analysis, cost savings, understanding of city and state regulations and a history of no-nonsense compliance solutions to meet the needs of the owner. Todd is a self-starter with a strong work ethic. He remains calm under pressure and is always focused on the end result. Todd is a key member of our company as he is able to see the big picture and consistently delivers via his problem solving skills, knowledge of profitability, structure and simplification to any project.
Broker/Director of Sales
Kelly Parrett joined Lexstar Real Estate Services in 2000 as Director of Sales and took over managing broker duties in 2006. Kelly is involved in all aspects of land development, build-to-suit opportunities, commercial sales/leasing, buyer/tenant representation and site selection. As Director of Sales, he manages the day-to-day operations of the Commercial Real Estate Division. He also serves as Property Coordinator for LRES and is responsible for the marketing and maintenance of the facilities managed by Lexstar. Such responsibility include Capital Square Office complexes located in both Fargo, ND and Bismarck, ND and the Veterans Square Retail Center (Fargo, ND). Before coming to Lexstar, Kelly was employed by Prudential LRES Realty and Gourmet Award Foods/Tree of Life where he spent 17 years. The last 3 years he served as the key Account Manager. Kelly and his wife Tammy live in south Fargo and have 2 children. They enjoy playing golf, watching baseball & hockey, gardening and spending time with their dogs.
Commercial Sales & Leasing
Brian Tjaden joined the Lexstar team in August of 2013, bringing with him a long history of corporate experience in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Brian has spent 20 years working at Stop-N-Go Foods Inc. where he oversaw several areas of the business, including; customer service, quality control, and personnel. He brings a vast knowledge of connecting with people through his team building and leadership skills. Brian decided to join Lexstar Real Estate Services, LLC after the acquisition of Stop-N-Go Foods by Casey’s General Stores. He grew up in the greater Minneapolis area and graduated from Concordia College in 1996. Brian currently lives in Hawley, MN with his wife and children.
Commercial Sales & Leasing
Bob Klein joined Lexstar Commercial Realty in 2008 as a marketing representative. Bob previously spent 36 years with Xerox Corporation, as a Sales Representative, Sales Manager, and Sales Training Representative. Bob brings an experienced, pragmatic and personal approach finding solutions to clients requests and issues. Bob grew up on a farm in South Central North Dakota, near Zeeland, ND. He is an alumni of University of North Dakota, and lives in Fargo with his wife Cheryl.

Nick Anderson is responsible for maintaining many of our properties. His knowledge of repair, maintenance and general labor serves Lexstar tremendously.
